Medium Build State Farm Arena - GA Concert reviews
The Roots never disappoint
One of the best bands in hip-hop, Medium Build will rarely disappoint and everyone can agree on that. There is room for improvement as far as the picnic as a music festival. The show is not allowed to continue past 1am since the venue is inside the "city" of Philadelphia. Acts must be cut and/or rushed when the show starts late in order to see everything through.
The only problem, which was a severe setback to the show as a whole, was created by the late start and DJ Jazzy Jeff's computer mishap. The Clipse had to play in the 2nd stage tent area while Vampire Weekend blared the music through in order to perform before curfew. Frustrated, The Clipse understandably got when his set couldn't be heard. So, they could do nothing but leave. Bad management and a true slap in the face to anyone who came to see them.
Many acts shined overall, and The Roots Picnic is a great show for hip-hop heads who also can get down to some other great artists such as Mayer Hawthorne & The County and Vampire Weekend. Plus, as stated earlier The Roots and John Legend put on a fantastic show.
